Video Notes
Kaleidoscope
This was the original video that ended-up as the Kaleidoscope Project. It was later renamed "Intersection" when it was included in the Kaleidoscope Project: Volume 1: Archetypes (2009) collection.
Mary Celeste Project
I had spent some time trying to get some friends to collaborate with on this idea, but there was no interest. I played around with a few ideas, but finally (in the spirit of this collection) just threw together a demo using the original storyboards that I created and called it quits.
Remember When...Union & Parkwood
I had gotten into the habit of playing these two songs in succession when I played them on my guitar, so it seemed to make sense to combine them in a new video as well. I was also able to shoot more videos that allowed me to show the past and present in the same frame. Clockwise rom the top left quadrant: Walking forward after my apartment building was torn-down, the original and shaky demo walking backwards, walking backward after my apartment was torn-down, and the final version that appeared on Akroness.
Remember When

Union & Parkwood (Demo)
The first demo for this concept was much to shaky to use in a collection. It was redone once I read an article with instructions on building a cheap steadycam out of hardware store supplies. It didn't make it perfect, but the results were notably improved.

Personal Thoughts
Stillbirth was originally meant to be a collection of aborted creative endeavors. Eventually, I did follow-through on the Kaleidoscope Project concept. Regardless, this was put together after an extended period of creative writer's block. I just decided to quit and stop pretending that I had anything more inside of me. It had become too hard.
I had moved my studio set-up back to my job's offices, just like I did for the Demo(n)s III, Demo(n)s IV and Union Point Sessions collections. This was necessary because I'd given-up my solitary room in the apartment I was sharing with two friends because I didn't want to spend any time alone. I was getting over a bad relationship. I didn't have a studio, so I had to move my equipment back to the office.
It was a miserable experience. I headed up there first thing in the morning on weekends, and spent a few nights there, trying to get that feeling of waking up and immediately getting to work in the studio.
Ultimately, I do like a lot of the material in this collection. I think it's some of my best work, but it was a sad time for me in my life and I don't like to think about it that often.
