Altered States was a short collection of mostly experimental tracks that were produced using an Akai S-20 Digital Phrase Sampler which was bought in the summer of 1997. The tracks were essentially created in limbo between the end of the Full Sun and beginning of the dextrometh eras.

Personal Thoughts
Obviously, the big thing here was the new Akai S-20 sampler. It opened so many doors and ideas and opportunities. The primary use for it was sampling my friends who played drums and creating loops from their beats. Over the new few years, the same 4 or 5 beats can be found in a lot of my music.
