==Personal Thoughts==
This collection is comprised of the "serious", original songs that I was working-on up to that point. The second album of the release (''[[Umbra]]'') contained the more "experimental" tracks and cover songs I'd recorded. During this period, I was especially serious and meticulous about what I was doing when it came to music, which is reflected in keeping the "serious" material separated from the "experimental" material. All things considered, I don't think I ever put as much effort into ''trying'' to get a clean, professional sound out of my recordings, and I really had nothing to work with. At the time, I had a friend's Boss DR-660 drum machine and used it extensively, trying to re-create a live drummer, but failing miserably. All the tracks were recording on either my Tascam Porta07 or a Tascam 424 which was loaned to me by a friend, using a single, dynamic microphone. Much of the material was recorded while working in Sag Harbor and staying at a friend's place in the Summer of 1996. This album (along with [[Umbra]]) was mastered down to DAT while I was there, and shipped-off to a person in Seattle to have CDs created at $20 a piece, which was a big deal at the time.
