The Kaleidoscope Project is an on-going multimedia project.

History

The Kaleidoscope Project was essentially born from a failed concept. In the Summer of 2006, I had the idea to create a video using the footage of people's faces as they turned in front of me while I was stopped at a traffic light. There was something I found interesting about people in that situation. They appeared completely honest in that moment when total concentration was required of them.

I mounted a camera in the passenger side seat of my car in an attempt to capture the expressions on people's faces as they turned in front of my car. At the time, I'd found watching people as they turned in

Unfortunately, my consumer miniDV camera was not capable of recording the footage I'd envisioned, but the shots I ended-up with gave me another idea. The next few hours were spent slicing, resizing and stacking layer upon layer of video, thus creating the first prototype, Intersection. The original plan was to make a series of pieces, but the inspiration stalled and the project was abandoned... until January of 2008 when it was resurrected. And, here we are today.
